Reset mysql root password in mysql console, phpadmin doesn't like it

Hi all,

I reset my root password in mysql console but didn't do it in myphpadmin first. Now i get access denied when I go to MyPhpadmin.

#1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)

I have tried adding my new password in config.inc.php in apps\phpadmin for root, stopping and restarting services but no change.

I thought I'd start again so uninstalled wamp, reinstalled but still I get the error. I thought removing everything and starting with a fresh install would resolve the issue but it seems the password I entered before has been stored somewhere (registry?).

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tim.

Ok I have figured this one out for myself. I think I just got my timing wrong.
Thanks anyway.
