hi - i've tried the CC forums & honestly have received little or no help.

i have a licenced version of CC4 running online but i dont like the skin/template.

i was told the easiest way to customise the skin/template was to put CC4 on a personal server & use firebug..

i've tried my licenced version & also a 30 day trial one on wamp both with the same issue.

installed wamp2 (php ver 5.2.5) & added zend optimizer + ioncube as required.

in phpmyadmin i set:

database name = cubecart
database user = annie
password = abc
pls note - no table(s) for the db were created

CC4 instalation folder was placed in www & [localhost] & displays the CC4 installation page.

i proceed with the CC4 installation, step1, step2 then step3 (the database name, user & pw details etc). however when i complete & proceed to the next installation step (4) all i get is a blank white screen - no errors - nothing

appreciate that this is not a CC forum but perhaps someone can help as i've been trying this for over a week - could it be something to do with no table(s) defined in phpmyadmin for for the database??

make sure you have first setup the mysql user annie (with password of your choice) and created a new database called cubecart.

CubeCart will not create the mysql user/database for you.

As quoted from cubecarts installation documentation

CubeCart requires a MySQL Database to save critical information such as customer
information, products and categories. If your hosting account doesn't have one or you are
unable to add one you may have to upgrade your hosting account.
You should be able to create a MySQL database from your web hosting control panel or
view the credentials of any existing ones. In some cases it is required that you need to
create a MySQL user which is later assigned to the database which you which to use for
your CubeCart store.

you need to setup db account, not just db

to setup db acct, follow this

hi yfastud - i setup a db account in phpmyadmin as instructed in the link you supplied..

again, i proceeded to install cubecart 4 but after i entered the database details - ie database name =cubecart, database user=cubecart & pw=cubecart i still get the blank white screen (as described before) when i triy to proceed to the next step in the CC installation .

any further suggestions would be appreciated..
