Just one question:

I am placing projects and applications outside c:/wamp/www/ from certain reason, so is it possible to create a virtual host and specify its DocumentRoot different as the one set in httpd.conf ???

So it would look like:

<VirtualHost *:80>
ServerName www.domain.com
ServerAlias domain.com domain
DocumentRoot C:/www/domain
ErrorLog C:/www/domain/logs/error.log
CustomLog C:/www/domain/logs/access.log common
</VirtualHost>

while DocumentRoot in httpd.conf will still point to c:/wamp/www/ ???

theory, you can setup document root outside wamp folder, but do you really need to do it since visitors will only see contains belonging to certain document root that set in vh that ties to certain sub/domains; for example, even these 2 are subdomains of jlbn but since its document root set to different folders, you will see the different contains

[themes.jlbn.net]
[blog.jlbn.net]

In additions, set all document roots in www is much easier to maintain/backup


to setup backup, follow this
[blog.jlbn.net]
