Hi all, total newbie here.

Ive just been on a steep learning curve and I am now trying to use some 3rd party php script in a website I am developing. The read me file for the script I am trying to integrate with a section of my site instructs me to edit the settings.php file with my database info then, to run an install.php file to complete setup. When I try run the install file I am getting a 403 error with the following message

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access //< on this server.

I cant seem to get my head around this problem, any assistance would be much appreciated.

you need to setup db first

to setup db, follow this

Thank you for your response yfastud. Im sorry I should have been more clear in my first post. I had managed to create the database.

I still had a look at that blog post though to make sure I had set everything up properly and database side seems to be fine but I am still getting that 403 error.

instead comparing, follow the guide to create a new db and try again

okay, I have started fresh with this database stuff, I followed instructions to setup the database from that site you gave me. I noticed I had initialy done few things differently when I first setup my original database but after getting my hopes up thinkin it was now going to work, it failed. I got the same error as before. Anymore suggestions?

Is the following the exact error message you're getting

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access //< on this server.

It may be the script causing the error. What script are you trying to install?

yea with code 403. I am tryna to use a blog script from [www.supersimple.org]
