install same wamp version, then just copy your old wamp folder to overwrite new wamp folder

I'm not sure this is totally correct?

I tried this once and it did not work.
I think that your pc has to be named exactly like it was for the old wamp for it to work?

I had a wamp installation on a pc that was named as sTimulated.
I also reformatted but did not name new pc.
Installed wamp, copied saved old wamp folder but it would not work.
I realised old wamp install pc was called sTimulated so named new pc as sTimulated and wamp began to work.

Can anyone confirm this?
