i installed wamp on my a new computer and now i want to transfer all the stuff from my old computer. The most important stuff really is just the database stuff. the old computer has v2.0 and the new computer has v2.0i. i started to mess around with coping and pasting some of the folders but have no success. So the new computer has mysql5.1.36 and the old computer has mysql5.0.51b. Is this a copy and paste solution? if so what do I copy and where do I paste? If not what do I need to do to transfer the database stuff over.

during my attempts to do this I uninstalled wamp from the old computer so it no longer has wamp on it. However before I uninstalled I copied the complete folder wamp folder. So I have all the files it used to have. Do I have to installed version 2.0 again make to make the export?

yes you shud install it again and then use the export

this depends on the the db type - MyISAM or INNODB

MYISAM dbs can be just copied and pasted

INNODB db need to be exported

you can tell the difference by opening your mysql/mysqlx.x.x/data folder

there shud be a folder for each DB you have

open the folder

if there is tablename.opt or databasename.opt then its using INNODB

fortunately i have the habit of keeping a copy of all the installation files I download so I was able to locate and install the old wamp with no problems (it was v2.0c). After I installed it i renamed wamp folder and copy and pasted the old wamp folder in its place. When I started wamp everything worked fine like as if it was never uninstalled. I made my backup (which is a INNODB db) then made the transfer to the new computer. Everything works great now and all my data is now in the new computer and new version of wamp! The only issues is some syntax problems with the newer version of php but nothing major. Thanks for the help!

I have the similar problem but in my case my motherboard is broken. I still have all the files on my hard drive. I haven't taken any backup in extensions .tr.zip or anything.
Now I have a totally new computer where I installed a new copy of wamp server. I tried to copy and paste the folders from old wamp folder to the new one. I don't know the further process. When I open the localhost form wamp, it shows the directories but not anything in the phpmyadmin.
Would you please teach me step by step what to do? It would be really helpful.

Thanks.
