Modify file "hosts" accordingly to avoid to loose connection in local LAN

hello ppl,

here it is my situation: a central computer on which wamp runs to host a local website for our office.
in order to make it visible by each pc in the lan and access it with a "domain" such as "[my_web];, I have modified the file HOSTS and something else according to a guide linked by someone here.
IT WORKS.
but...

since i cannot use a static ip address due to local network configuration i have to use dynamic ip assigned by dhcp.
for this reason sometimes i have to re-modify ALL the hosts files on each pc in order to be able to connect to the local website using that fake "domain".

is there any way i can apply some modification to solve this problem?

thank you.

on any windows network that is setup properly you can always use the name of the pc

so for example

[WORKPC]
[SERVER]
[MACHINE1]

etc etc

i already have used the guide linked above, but that one only shows how to configure the hosts with static ip.

so the file "hosts" is more or less:

192.123.456.100 localhost
192.123.456.100 my_name

and in this way it works ony until the ip does not change for some reason.

how should i configure the file "hosts" with the pc name?

thank you.

u dont configure the hosts file - thats the beauty of it

just use HT TP://PCNAMEWITHWAMP

u can then save it as a fav link etc on all the pcs
