Hey,

I am using Wamp since few years now.
Yesterday, I installed it on a Dell laptop with Windows Vista.

Everything was working fine after the installation of the last version: Apache and MySQL was running great.

Today I restart the computer and impossible to launch Apache... and MySQL is running.
The port 80 is not used by an other service
My host file seems ok (localhost 127.0.0.1)
I have the double quote in the conf file

I tried an older version (2.0a) and I have the same problem...
I tried to run the apache and the wamp executable files in admin mode, same problem...

Any idea?

Thank you ;-)

hi,
did you try to start the wampapache service on Control Panel / Services?
Can you check on Events Viewer if there is an error message that give more info on the error details?

Hi!
I am actually having the same problem as above. I had problem getting the WAMP server working but yesterday Steven helped me so much(God Bless him). It worked fine, however this morning when i went back to continue my work, i found out although the Wamp server icon was/is yellow yet i was getting an error message "Unable to connet, Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost." I did a test for port 80, i got the following message, "YOur port 80 is not actually used."
I tried the above suggession, "to start the wampapache service" i got the following error message " Windows could not start the wampapache service on Local Computer. Error 1053: The service did not respond ot the start or control request in a timely fashion."
Any idea or suggession?
Thanks in advance!
Armon

Hi I would try changing the user that start the service.
In Control Panel / Services, right-click on "wampapache" and select "Properties".
Then go to the "Log-On" tab select "this account" and insert your account name and password.
Then try again to start it.
