I installed the server, got it working and all that. but when trying to access the site from a different computer just to use the website it asks for a user name and password. How do I make this fully functional to the public?

Probably you have IIS installed too.
If you don't need it/know it, then you can uninstall it from Control Panel -> Add/remove programs -> Manage Windows components and untick content publication service (IIS).
Then restart your computer to take this into account.

Another question : Did you change Apache port in Wamp ?

And what about the first part of the answer ?

Also make sure this is not a security feature of your website (.htaccess or ip server check).

Anyway, you should not have to enter a password.

the IIS was already disabled.
when asking for the password it has something to do with the local router i beleive. Any local router.
