faulting module php5ts.dll

I was wondering if someone knew what this error was that appears in the event viewer-

Faulting application httpd.exe, version 2.2.11.0, faulting module php5ts.dll, version 5.2.9.9, fault address 0x0006f85d.

It happens no matter what version of PHP I’m using or build of apache – I’ve tried them all.

at the same time of the event viewer application error, apache creates a dump file..

I'm at a total loss.

I'm having the same issue. I've installed all the different versions, with no luck.

Faulting application name: httpd.exe, version: 2.2.11.0, time stamp: 0x493f5d44
Faulting module name: php5ts.dll, version: 5.3.0.0, time stamp: 0x4a4922e7
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x000e4e3d
Faulting process id: 0x464
Faulting application start time: 0x01ca87d9097f592f
Faulting application path: c:\wamp\bin\apache\apache2.2.11\bin\httpd.exe
Faulting module path: c:\wamp\bin\apache\apache2.2.11\bin\php5ts.dll
Report Id: 4785fbe9-f3cc-11de-a90e-001a6bc59299

I'm running Windows 7 x64 Ultimate.

I'm more than willing to provide any files to help debug this issue.

It seems that you get a problem between php.ini version and php version.
Delete wamp folder and try to reinstall..

I've tried that multiple times. It appears to be a problem with PHP itself. Running PHP from command line results in a CLI has stopped working.

I think I found the reason. It appears the Microsoft Web Platform Installer installs php 5.2.1 as part of it's install. You have to uninstall php under add/remove programs... Refer to this post:

I've tried that. I've tried every version of PHP - MS installed or from scratch and Wamp's on clean machines (new builds) and still get it. even under various versions of windows, PHP and apache.

In my case this issue has made me nuts....Every 10-15 minutes I am receiving the error and after 5-6 instances of the error, my server stops serving the pages. I mean the wampmysqld and wampapache service are still running buy webpages never loads.

So I have to manually restart all services from Wamp control panel on system tray then the sites load fine.

I have tried almost all the solutions I found through google.

My Wamp server is running on a windows 2003 server 64 bit edition.

shut down wamp, search and rename any php.ini file, and httpd.conf file if any, outside wamp folder then restart wamp

After hours of pain and tracking down the error logs which brought me to this blog i uninstalled a version for PHP i installed to work with Visual Studio... that did the trick and i'm up and running, minus VS.

I solved my own problem by downgrading from wampserver 2.0i to 2.0h. I'm running wampserver on 3 windows servers. One is windows 2003 and the other two are 2008. Wampserver 2.0i runs fine on Windows 2003. I had version 2.0h on one of the 2008 servers and it works just fine. However, this problem started when I installed version 2.0i on the other Windows 2008. I spent a couple of days trying all the suggestions I could find online but to no avail. Downgrading to 2.0h took care of it. Hopefully this may help someone out there who may be going through the same issues.
