Now I have your attention
Maybe if I include 07 someone will read this.
I have uploaded the program as described in your instructions. The first time when I went to localhost I was asked for log in and password, so I removed the program and started again. This time in a different drive. I got the same message, so I closed down the computer and re booted. Now I just get a blank page.
Is there anyone there who knows enough about this program to be able to help me?
I can find instructions , but nothing telling me what has gone wrong, when what is supposed to happen doesn't. for example when you click on localhost and nothing happens "go to this page"
any help will be appreciated
Not having fun,
Murff

It appears you have something installed on your computer that is interfering with WAMP. The most common apps to interfere are IIS (Internet Information Service) and Skype.

You should disable these before using WAMP.

Also can you post what color WAMP tray icon is?

The icon is white
I have read about Skype and turned it off
Now I have removed IIS from windows
There is a small improvement .
Now I get his message :-

Failed to Connect

The connection was refused when attempting to contact localhost.

Though the site seems valid, the browser was unable to establish a connection.

* Could the site be temporarily unavailable? Try again later.

* Are you unable to browse other sites? Check the computer's network connection.

* Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy? Incorrect settings can interfere with Web browsing.

any more suggestions would be appreciated,

What color is the wamp tray icon. Look for an icon that looks like a small speedometer. it should fully white. Red/yellow means there is a problem.
