Access denied to www folder sad smiley

Hi i've just got started with Wamp Server.Its online and i have access to localhost folder however i cannot save anything in the www folder because i dont have the right permissions an alert box says "You dont have permission to save in this location, Contact the administrator to obtain permission" which is weird because i am the administrator. Im not sure if this is a Wamp or a Vista problem(prob Vista). Anyone know how I can grant myself permission???

I seem to have the similar problem. I've tried to uncheck read-only attribute on files within www directory. Vista processed the request. But the folder is still read only...any idea why? please help!! I'm stuck...Thanks. Paul

neither vista nor wamp cause that problem but probably you guys has another program or av/firewall cause it

Hello, Thanks for the fast reply.

I turn off the Windows default firewall, and I don't have any anti virus software installed. I once installed Windows SQLserver express, but I unintalled that prior to WAMP.

Can communication program, such as skype or webex, cause the problem?

Any idea of what other type of software might pose the problem here?

make sure no other program conflict wamp such as iis, skype, zonealarm, firewall/antivirus nod32, eset ...

I uninstalled skype, and I don't zonealarm or any other firewall on. Still have problem unchecking read only on folders under www. hummm...

Any other suggestions?

you don't really need to uninstall skype, but just set it run on different port; anyway, you've uninstalled skype but how about webex which might conflict wamp as well; again, you don't need to uninstall it but check to make sure any web related program would not block or conflict wamp winking smiley
