WampServer

Is it possible to disable automatically starting MySQL when wampserver starts? I still want to be able to start it manually.

It seems like any changes I make to wampmanager.ini just get overwritten when I start the program or cause errors when starting.

wampmanager.tpl is the one u need to edit.,



but thats not how id do it...



left click wamp icon > mysql>services> uninstall service...



then u can install it automatically wen u need it





or you can go windows>start>run> services.msc


find wampmysqld

and right click >properties>

change startup to manual instead of automatic

When you quit wampserver, service mysqld is shutted down.

When you starts, wamp tell mysqld to start in [StartupAction] section.
Then you can remove this line from wampmanager.tpl

Action: service; Service: wampmysqld; ServiceAction: startresume; Flags: ignoreerrors

You will still be able to start mysql from its submenu, and that won't uninstall it, just don't activate at startup

Sorry for exhuming this old topic: I tried toumimi's solution, works fine.

However, the icontray for Wamp is orange instead of green, as MySQL is not running...
Is there a way to indicate that it should not check for MySQL and get back green status ?

NO.
- red -> Apache service not started
- orange -> Mysql service not started
- green -> both services started.

It is BY DESIGN in Aestan Tray Menu.

Tray->Right click->Wamp settings->Allow Mysql
Exit wamp and reopen
