Localhost Logon Issue

Hello Everyone,

I just installed wamp 5 but when i click on localhost it prompt login box and i didn't set any username and password. This problems occurs on both Firefox and IE 7.0.

So if there are anyone out there who knows a solution to this i would really appreciate it. I have my exams soon and i need it to function in order to show my php.

Thanks alot Aunthentication problem solved but now phpMyAdmin not open it shows Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost.

This problem also occurs when i click on localhost,phpMyAdmin,SQLiteManager

Left click on the WAMP icon and in the menu goto Apache and click httpd.conf. Find the following lines....

#Listen 12.34.56.78:80
Listen 80

ServerName localhost:80

And change them to....

#Listen 12.34.56.78:80
Listen 8080

ServerName localhost:8080

Left click the WAMP icon again and click Restart All Services and then goto [localhost] in your browser. If it loads restart your PC and change them back to 80 and it should load fine

Thanku for the response i have change #Listen 12.34.56.78:80 Listen 8080 but its not working

Now do i need to change httpd.conf to previous settings or not ?


And my wamp server color is Yellow,Server Offline and its running one service out of 2


I also change server status to online but same problem

server online is not this- its about allowing connection to internet.

change the listen to listen 80 again

restart wamp- check colour of icon

if its still yellow tell me what programs you have installed such as skype firewalls etc that use internet connection

same Yellow color i dont have skype like software except for msn.

Software that i mostly used is IDM,MSN

you may have soemthing else running on port 80

post up a netstat report


start>run> type in

cmd (press enter)



in the black box type in

cd desktop (press enter)



then type in

netstat -aon > ports.log (press enter)



this will create a file on your desktop- open it and paste the first 5 lines up here
