I wanted initially to ask how to resolve this problem but i found the solution on google.. So I post it here maybe someone will find it useful...

Download mysql-noinstall-5.1.30-win32.zip from:
[dev.mysql.com]

Inside archive from directory:
mysql-5.1.30-win32\data\mysql\

copy and overwrite all files

to directory:
C:\wamp\bin\mysql\mysql5.1.30\data\mysql\

If I'm missing something.. please let me know...

Other then that... Happy new year!

Hi Aladmin, I have this problem and have downloaded the file but don't understand your directions.

"Inside archive from directory" there is no directory in the download called mysql-5.1.30\... etc.
What do you mean? What do I copy ?

"To directory... C:\wamp\bin\mysql\mysql5.1.30\data\mysql\ " I think I get this bit!!! I need to paste it into here and replace the existing files (?)
Happy New Year to you to!

Just copy and overwrite all files from this directory:

mysql-5.1.30-win32\data\mysql\

to this directory:

C:\wamp\bin\mysql\mysql5.1.30\data\mysql\

Hi Aladmin, I have made that change and tried to start it again. Same message appears:

090119 21:43:02 [ERROR] Can't open and lock privilege tables: Table 'mysql.servers' doesn't exist
090119 21:43:02 [ERROR] Incorrect definition of table mysql.event:

So it doesn't appear to have done anything.

I don't know what else to tell you... Try a reinstall...
Maybe you copied the wrong files...

mysql-5.1.30-win32\data\mysql\ *.* \\all files from this directory
C:\wamp\bin\mysql\mysql5.1.30\data\mysql\ *.* \\ to this directory

In the worst case you can reinstall an older version of mysql.
Left click in system tray on wampserver icon/hover mysql/hover version/click get more ... Download and install an older version that you know it worked for you...
Good look!

Thanks for your help. I will try an older version, although I have never used any of this software before, so I have never had a version that worked!!

aladmin,

i am getting this error as well, but it only appears in the log and doesn't seem to really matter at least as far as using wamp2 with freeway.

but i'd like to get rid of the errors. so if i overwrite the libraries like you have suggested above will i lose any of my data? i installed last week and have done a bit of configuring since then.

if data will be lost can we identify just the files i need to overwrite rather than the entire folder, or does it all have to happen.

I like your wamp 2 integration product!

steve

thanks!

if already had db, make sure to backup them first; if having myisam type, you can just simple copy and paste folders; otherwise, use phpmyadmin to export then import; however, if db is quite big, you need to tweak your server a bit in order to backup and restore
