I am currently using e-novative WAMP and would like to use WAMP server.

My setup is as follows:

Using Windows XP

Wamp is installed in c:\WAMP

localhost is in e:\$$developmemt\htdocs

I have not yet started the installation, Is there a way I can recreate this configuration at install time?

Thanks for your help.

too many options and none of them is simple as 123, so I list some and pick 1 you're more comfortable w/
1. compile everything including yours
2. create as add-on
3. install wamp, install your app, copy wamp folder to usb, make to add some batch files so your usb can run on any desktop/laptop, then, if you like, burn them to cd/dvd to redistribut, and you can even make it bootable ;-)
personally, I like the last 1 since I can run it on any win computers ;-)

Actually drive e: is a hard drive on my desktop. I already backed up all my htdcos folder as well as exported all my databases.

All I want is recreate the same environment where the local host is on drive e in my computer in folder $$developmentàhtdocs.

I can understand solution 3 and It opens interesting possibilities. Can you pleease explain what you mean byt "make to add some batch files ".

Je parle le français si c'est plus facile.

Thank you in advance.

Jean Claude.

Thanks, I managed to install WAMPSERVER2 and configured it so localhost is in drive e as I wanted.

I copied all databases files I had saved to the folder ....\mysql5..51b\data.

I can access all my data through phpMyAdmin BUT.... I cannot yet run any of my applications because the databases were set with a User and Password.

Can I change the configuration to accept this same user and password, and where would I do it.

I tried to find a config file with this information withot success.

Thaks for your help.

Forget my previous post I found it via phpMyAdmin, created user with password. Everything works fine.

Sorry for the trouble and thanks again.

I have run WAMP for a couple of years already and appreciated the feature of previous versions, which allowed me to store all my projects on different partition (with the option during installation). Now, that I installed WAMPSERVER2, I have no access to the partition with my projects. I tried to edit the httpd.config. But then no localhost appeared.
Is there something more to edit to have the projects accessible while storing them on e.g. partition Emoody smiley

My mistake. I have overseen that there was "C:/wamp/www" amd I needed only "E:/" not "E:/WWW".
