Hi There,
I am new to this. Wamp installed fine and comes up. I can access and see directories via localhost, but no single file. No html. no css. Always responds with 403-Forbidden.
Thanks for your help!!!
Max

Full Error Message:
Forbidden: You don't have permission to access /<mysite./index.html on this server.

If I try to start a php file I get another error message:

Warning: Unknown: failed to open stream: Permission denied in Unknown on line 0
Fatal error: Unknown: Failed opening required 'C:/wamp/www/<mysite>/<file>.php' (include_path='.;C:\php5\pear') in Unknown on line 0

that is just a placeholder for the file names. I put the placeholder in there it since the name has no relevance.

The full path is be /mytestsite/index.html
and the path could be C:/wamp/www/mytestsite/functions.php

Thanks, Steven for your patience and your time here.

THis is the exact address: [localhost].

After playing with the services and read about the software a little more, I think I found the cause (but don't know the solution). Here the Apache log

Tue Nov 11 19:09:25 2008] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] (OS 5)Access is denied. : file permissions deny server access: C:/wamp/www/myusabusiness/index.html, referer: [localhost]

Must be one of the Vista File Permissions? They drive me NUTS.

Sorry, now that I think about it, I should have mentioned that I run Vista ...

I was having a similar sort of problem, which I've just solved, and so I thought I'd share the solution.

I noticed that all my file-names in Explorer were written in Green. After a bit of digging around, it turns out they were encrypted, so I turned encryption off on them and everything's good now!

In order to disable decryption, select your files, right-click and go to properties, and under "General" go to "Advanced" and remove the tick that says "Encrypt File Contents". The file-names will then turn back to black, and everything was fine smiling smiley

Hope this helps!
