Fatal apache problem with 2.0c

I've been using WAMP for a long time.
I now moved to a new computer and installed 2.0c (last version I used was 2.0a and it worked well) and am getting apache crashes all the time.

Are there any known issues?

Trying to change document root to a different folder gets me 403 on every request.
Trying to launch a symfony project I have crashes the apache and the error log looks messed up...

Please note that now when I try to restart the apache, it doesn't work.
When started, two httpd.exe processed are opened. When I use WAMP to terminate apache service, it closes only one of them so it cannot restart.

UPDATE:

I've uninstalled 2.0c and installed 2.0a and got everything to work well again.

The problem I've mentioned in the previous post about the 2nd apache process not being terminated still happens though (I have to end it manually). Any ideas?

Thanks

The problem is NOT the 2 instances but the fact that WAMP can kill only one of them so I have to kill the second manually when I wish to restart the server. I never had this problem before so tips are welcomed. Thanks.

I don't get any error, WAMP's icon is left yellow.
If I kill the apache process myself (with task manager) then I get start it again well.

this sounds like a PID error.

start it so you have two httpd services

goto

C:\wamp\bin\apache\apache2.2.8\logs

open the SOMETHING.pid and take note of the number, (there should be only one file with this name)

what is the name of this SOMETHING file?

close the file

stop the services using the menu(so that 1 httpd stays open cos of the problem)

check in taskmanager the PID number beside that httpd service that wont close.

are they different or the same?

Yes, they are different.
I've checked a bit further and the httpd.pid contains the process ID of the process that it did successfully close (recall: one is closed but another is left open).

Is there a workaround?

THANKS

BTW: I'm using 2.0a now so it's apache 2.2.6
