Problem with RewriteEngine after upgrade

I have just upgraded to Wampserver 2.0, and now my .htaccess RewriteEngine commands all cause an Internal Server Error, yet they work fine on the live server.

Other .htaccess commands, ErrorDocument and redirect work fine.

Have I missed something?

After upgraded, did you enable mod rewrite? If not, left click on wamp tray icon, then Apache, then Apache modules, then scroll down and click to have check symbol in front of rewrite_module

Ah - it's not checked... "check everything" should be the rule. (:->

HOWEVER, when I click on it, I get "Could not execute menu item (internal error) [Exception] Could not execute run action: The system cannot find the path specified

OK, I hold my hand up.

The upgrade to Wampserver 2.0 is not very elegant, and I had renamed the folder containing the previous version, so that I could go back and get any settings that I needed.

And I was starting the old version, which was pointing to the new localhost home page...

So everything is great, and I can get back to exploring JSON, which is why I decided to upgrade in the first place!
