Hi, I`m new in this forum and new in using WAMP

I`m using WAMP5 and everything is going nice ... except I got one little problem, the icon of the program is yellowish ... and I know that the problem from the apache ...

I tired to get it to work "Start/Resume Service" but nothing changed

I even tried to Install the service again through "Install Service" but I get an error message

"Your port 80 is actually used by:

Information not available (might be Skype).
Cannot install the Apache service, please stop this application and try again."

Although I don`t have Skype installed on my PC ...

what should I do to have it work again ??

or goto start, run , type in cmd and press enter


type in netstat -a into the black box and post up the information here

u have another server on your pc called microsoft iis server. either delete it or change the port that apache is running on

to do this

open c:/wamp/bin/apache/apache2.2.8/conf /httpd.conf

find the line

Listen 80

and change to

Listen 81


from now on ul need to add 81 to the end of the url such as [localhost]

Well nothing changed and the tray icon is still yellow

also locahost:81 doesn`t open

the "Apache service" is not running ...

did u open the file and change it? then restart wamp?

yup changed the file and restarted the WAMP ... but still yellow and the Apache doesn`t work and is still on port 80 although I changed it in the file to 81 as u told me ...

P.S.: This happened after I followed the Steps for making a virtual server found here:

u shud have said....... ur virtual host is just set up wrong if apache had worked beofer on 80


show me ur vh file . put wamp back on 80

vh vitual hosts.. didnt u make changes to httpd-virtualhosts? in c:/wamp/bin/apache/apcahe2.2.8/conf/extra/httpd-vhost.conf

well first I`m using the 2.2.6 not the 2.2.8

second I`ve changed the file ...
