WampServer

Hello everybody. I installed WAMP latest version and all services are up and running, site is online but nobody from internet is able to see it.

Pc have XP sp2 with a normale ADSL line

what am i doing wrong?

ichecked you guides, but i'm pretty sure all these steps are ok on my PC.
i mean, on windows firewall port 80 is already open
on router, the same
is i type [localhost] i got the page with all php and mysql details.....

external pc? at in not on the same network??


do u have a static ip? are u connecting to the right external ip? do u have a router? do ur isp allow port 80? etc

For external i mean that i tried from my friend Pc that is using another ISP
i have no other Pc in that network, unfortunately.

yes i have a static IP, but also with that it doesn't work

i have a router Pirelli provided from the ISP and i think port 80 is allowed since i can normally browse internet, download files, use p2p etc

no this is not how it works... did u get the external ipaddrss of ur router? goto whatsmyip.com



next in ur router make a port forawrd in ur router to forward port 8080 requests to ur computers internal ip on port 80

it sounds complicated maybe...



ur router ip is xx.xx.xxx.xxx


ur internal ip for pc is 192.168.x.xx


in ur router set a forard like this

port range 8080 to 8080

interanl ip 192.168.x.xx
internal port 80


then on ur friends pc connect using xx.xx.xxx.xxx:8080


ur router will change this to 192.168.x.xx:80 and apache will get the request

all beacuse most ips do block port 80

First, you missed 1 step: put your server in on-line mode
Second, how do you access from other computer, I mean, what did you type in browser to access your website from outside?

i have as option :

local port 80
public ip address 87.XX.xx.xx
public port 8080
protocol: all (tcp&udp)
is this that you mean?

i missed that step because it's too obvious :-)
I tried typing both [87.xx.xx.xx] and [domainname] (provided by Dyn DNS, also if i have a fixed IP)
i tried also adding www at the beginning and index.php th the end

yes u mustdo watnyfastud said or any page u try and request will come up as 403 forbiden,



so now u will be connecting to the server using 87.xx.xx.xx:8080/index.php

i use a program called no ip to do this.. it gives me a url and free updating of my ip.

but ur static ip shud help u

can u supply asymore errors ur reciveing?

wamp icon is white and online?

i use NOIP too! (even if not needed because of the fix Ip)

http:\\localhost is working

the problem is i don't get any error message, all services ar up and site is online.
but from any PC on the internet my sytes is not visible

wat error is the browser giving .. 404 cant find or a time out error?

may be because i'm using wamp not on C but on external drive g?

no a time out error is good.
it means its geting to ur router but geting lost and cant find apache.,.. u sure u set up ur httpd.conf file right?



did u set servername to


Servername 192.168.x.xxx

i tried , i set 192.168.1.40:80

(while router is 192.186.1.1)


same problem.

but i notice that the timeout doesn't come
My friend browser keeps on trying to load

are u using no-ip now?

ur certain ur port forward is set up right in the browser?


wat make and model is it?

I THINK IP FORWARD IS SET ok BUT NOT SO SURE
