You made a mistake there because it should be localhost:8080 not localhost/8080

It looks like the <directory> list is explicitly denying *all* access, and then allowing only from localhost.

<Directory "e:/wamp/www/">
#
# Possible values for the Options directive are "None", "All",
# or any combination of:
# Indexes Includes FollowSymLinks SymLinksifOwnerMatch ExecCGI MultiViews
#
# Note that "MultiViews" must be named *explicitly* --- "Options All"
# doesn't give it to you.
#
# The Options directive is both complicated and important. Please see
# [httpd.apache.org]
# for more information.
#
Options Indexes FollowSymLinks

#
# AllowOverride controls what directives may be placed in .htaccess files.
# It can be "All", "None", or any combination of the keywords:
# Options FileInfo AuthConfig Limit
#
AllowOverride all

#
# Controls who can get stuff from this server.
#

# onlineoffline tag - don't remove
Order Deny,Allow
# Deny from all <------------comment me out!
Allow from 127.0.0.1

</Directory>

Use the # to comment out the "Deny from all" like the 2nd from last line above...

You may also then want to comment out the "allow from 127.0.0.1" line as well, as it may be redundant (what, now that you are allowing from all and all...)

Hope that this helps!

Quote

g:\websites
The path above is not correct because it should be g:/websites not g:\websites, I mean / not \

OK, first thing first, this is case sensitive, so you must post exactly what you changed and in what file or it's very very hard to help you

My mistake was in the post. The file is correct. Darn!

********************

Earlier in a post someone had me change this:

# onlineoffline tag - don't remove
Order Deny,Allow
# Deny from all <------------comment me out!
Allow from 127.0.0.1

Did not help
************************************

In an earlier post, I was told to change

#Listen 12.34.56.78:80
#I changed port to 8080
Listen 8080

I goofed in the line above. I left out 12.34.56.78:

When I change it to Listen 12.34.56.78:8080, the icon turns yellow again.
*******************************

Also, this morning I noticed this

ServerName localhost:80

Should this be 8080, also ??
***********************************

I think I've tried every combination.

This post is so long and the subject is wrong.

Starting a new post "Apache not running."

Thanks to all who help.
