PhpMyAdmin won't come up after 10+ re/uninstalls error #2003

#2003 - Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061)

PhpMyAdmin NEVER works.

I've tried EVERYTHING on here. 10 times over.

I've modified the ini from InnoDB to MyISAM, checked the config files, all that.

I always get this message.

For the past 10 days or more. The phpmyadmin page came up ONCE in the beginning of all this, and soon after, just gave the error page. Then I uninstalled and re-installed, and it's never come up since, in 9 more tries.

I've gone through the registry and deleted wamp keys, and deleted any folders of the C drive.

I'm going to try for the last time today, if I can get some help, then that's it.

This program is turning out to be total garbage and a waste of A LOT of my time.

The icon is all white when set to online, white with a black square in the middle when offline.

Default ports, I suppose, I didnt change anything, its a new install.
How can I find out? Why would they not be on the default?

There is NO httpd log in the c:/wamp/logs folder, and the mysql log is BLANK

This is some of the apache error log, from the bottom:

ok well it doesnt sound good that its empty... mysql log should have something in it... but its strnage because its running if the icon is white...
try a change of ports on mysql to see if u can get some info in the mysql log...

open c:wamp/bin/mysql/ my.ini and change 3306 to 3307 it is in the file 3 times

----------------
[client]

port=3306

----------------

# The TCP/IP Port the MySQL Server will listen on
port=3306

-------------------------------------------------

[mysqld]
port=3306

------------------------------------------------

No, that didn't work. Still just the error message.
I DO see"Welcome to phpMyAdmin 2.11.5" at the top of the page, so I'm on the page, it's just MySQL isnt being allowed, right? The problem is the MySql part of this?
Is this actually MySQL, or some screwed up variant of it?

Thanks for helping me, btw

Did you ever had any db server or any other wamp package before?

I previously had PHP, MySQL and Apache installed seperately, but the video tutorial I have is using WAMpserver, so I uninstalled them, as well as ColdFusion, just in case, and am trying to install WAMPserver, so I can do the tutorial.

I uninstalled all Windows .NET from Add Remove programs, too.

I tried opening on new page, nothing.

Also, the mysqld-nt.exe part of this NEVER stops regularly, I have to kill it through Task Manager every time.

That's the problem :-(
Most people had this problem because they've already had Apache and/or DB before using this wamp, and there is nothing wrong w/ this wamp if you've never had any other wamp package. Anyway, you need to clean all of their registries as well before reinstall this wamp

I did that every time.

How do you clean the registry?

I just searched for "Apache" "MySQl" and PHP and deleted everything

Is there some other thing I'm missing?

Just went through the registry and deleted everything with wamp, apache, and mysql

Downloaded wampserver exe again

Installed it

Same error message with phpmyadmin

11th try, now

I really don't even know why I'm doing this, what is this program even for?

I had Apache, MySQL and PHP5 on here, and MySQL GUI Tools, why would I even need this (obviously poorly written) program?

I think I'm going to toss this tutorial that uses it, I can't imagine the tutorial being worth watching if it uses this garbage program.

NO, it's just for testing, not a server.

I had MySQL, MySQL GUI Tools, Apache and PHP5 on here, all worked great. I wanted to follow along on a tutorial which was using this, so I wanted to try it.

"Other stupid programs" cause this one to not function? And no one knows what programs?
Why does everything else on my pc work like a charm, then?

And I havent installed anything on the pc since I started messing with this crap, I havent had the time, it's all I've been working on for the past 4 or 5 days.

So you never uninstalled and delete their registries before installing this wamp???

Anyway, I've installed wampserver on a lot of different computer/laptops from brands names to no- name, and already installed wamp2a on more than 50 machines, and never had any problem, or might be just some minor problems which were resolved w/i minutes

BTW, if you've already had Apache, MySQL and PHP, not sure why you like to have another webserver on same machine??? Everything should work the same, except Menu Tray icon
