Hello, there.

I am trying to set up my Wamp but the error -- configuration file now needs a secret passphrase (blowfish_secret) -- is in the way.

It seems i did the right instructions from JBLN guides...

Someone would be so kind to shed some light on this??

You might forgot to put in the passphrase, so go back to the guide, check the screenshot to make sure you put it in the right place

I am grateful to any help on this, cause i'd like to test Joomla 1.5 in my home environment.

Hello, moderator!

I opened Wamp for the first time today and the situation has changed.

Now the dialog box asks for the password, but does not accept the one i inserted in the query.

What to do now??

I am grateful to your post!
But, would you, please , write it more clearly?

This editing is just in the config.inc file?

Thank you, very much.

leave blowfish empty

more importantly did u ever set a password for the user root?

this config.inc file does not set it..... it only signs u into mysql automatically. if u didnt give the user a password then leave the password empty. once u get into phpmyadmin u can then add a password.

Yes... i did set a query and it went smoothly... two times i inserted the password desired.

And now i emptyed the blowfish thing:

Quote:

$cfg[''] = '';

Saved, reopened Wamp and came still this:

Erro
Mensagens do MySQL :

#1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

Same window as before

THANK YOU FOR CARING

ok all i can suggest u to do is delete the usertable and install a new one,.

you can get the three files here on my server.... [pampserver.com]

END WAMP COMPLETELY

MAKE SURE THERE IS NO MYSQLD-NT SERVICES RUNNING

open C:\wamp\bin\mysql\mysql5.0.45\data\mysql

there is three files

USER.frm
USER.MYD
user.MYI

Delete them

downlaod off my server and put them back in.

open ur config.inc file

Have user as 'root'
password as ''
auth type 'config'

then restart wamp
clear ur browser history and go into phpmyadmin

So...
I reinstalled everything carefully, folowing the instructions from JBLN site.
Deleted all cookies, flies in the browser.
I was more clear now knowing the steps ahead.
Created a new password by Phpadmin.
Then I inserted a secret word for blowfish, changed config to cookie and put my desired password in the field ahead of those two, as the instructions go.

Closed everything and restarted the computer.

Finished, everything working.

Thanks a lot for the attention.

Good work for all of you .
