WampServer

hi guys
i have installed WAMP server 2
and when i try to acccess my localhost page it asks for a usewr name and a password when i put in some random values it gives an error

HTTP/1.1 500 Server Error

PLZ help guys wats da soln
i have tried reinstalling it several times and removed da registry entries each time

Make sure you don't have .htaccess in document root, default is c:/wamp/www folder

well i have done that and still i/m not able to access localhost
its asking for a username and a password each time i start i statrt my wqampserver and try accessing the localhost

are u going to [localhost] #??? first clear ur broswer history then try it

well wamp icon is white
and its offline

thats fine... so when you go to [localhost] in ur browser what do u get?

the server cannot be found
dats da error now

and wen i put in sum crap username and password it gives a i.500 server error

did u fill in ur http.conf properly?

dere's no ServerHost in httpd.conf though

in ur www folder do u have a file called index.php

ServerName is wat i wrote...

i fnd it and changed it restarted WAMP its still asking for a username and password
