I did everything that was needed in Install & Setup Virtual Host Guide for WAMP

but it doesn't work. I mean I can't see the website on other computer through domain name.

All I didn't do were the subdomains because I don't need them!

What is the problem.

I assume you fixed this as I can see a side called www.apcarsales.com, what was the trick that solved your cases?

No, I didn't fix this. It's my site, but it's on a real server. I was just saying it as an example. I still need the help!

Host file is used for lan access, so you should not use your real domain there, thus, it should be

127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 apcarsales

And in vh, it should be:

NameVirtualHost *:80

<VirtualHost *:80>
ServerName apcarsales
DocumentRoot C:/wamp/www/apcarsales
</VirtualHost>

<VirtualHost *:80>
ServerName localhost
DocumentRoot C:/wamp/www
</VirtualHost>

And follow the guide to finish all other steps ;-)

Nope, there are just example. Only do what you need; for example, you might not need subdomains, but might have more than 1 domain, just substitute the example names w/ your desire names

Ok.. STILL DOESN'T WORK.

I went through the guide very carefully with the domain name of propixstudio.com but nothing works. It just brings it to godaddys parked page. PLEASE HELP


Now I try to click on wamp and click localhost, it says

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access / on this server.

WHy does this start popping up. phpMyAdmin works fine. First it pops a password menu I enter and it's fine, but here....

What would I name my folder for www.propixstudio.com in the folder wamp www.

would i name it propixstudio, or propixstudio.com, or www.propixstudio.com

I've already mentioned it in my VH guide, in order to access your real domain worldwide, besides vh and hardware settings, you still need to configure dns to make it work, and it seems you did NOT configure dns, it leads you to domain's registra which is godaddy, I guess :-(

wamp doesn't come w/ dns, so you have to seek help from your domain's registrar ;-)

You mean w/o dns, you can access your websites through your wan ip as already mentioned in my vh guide ;-)

I know what a domain is. I have www.propixstudio.com registered, and I own it.

I also have www.apcarsales.com bought and have that site running on a hosting server.

I need to have wamp be a server for propixstudio.com and so the whole world can view it by going to

www.propixstudio.com

That's all I need. I need wamp to for with dns and so my domain propixstudio.com would work wold wide.

Only very rarely you would run your own DNS server, and definitely not for the same domain as the server which you are hosting the domain name for. That would create a case of the chicken or the egg.

If you own a second domain and an old 486 PC, have fun and install Linux with BIND and host your domain, like I do :-)
