WampServer

Can someone help me? I know someone else made a post about this but i still can't get it to show online. All i did was install it, configure it with phpMyAdmin and put the server online. I can view this site using [127.0.0.1] but how come anyone else can't? I have port 80 forwarded on my router and i also have MySQL and Apache loaded. Anyone have a solution to this problem?

when you say others, do you mean your site is on the internet ?
you need to have a domain name mapped to your computer.. like www.test.com --> will resolve to your IP.
forwarding port 80 through the router is not enough.
you need your ISP to allow you to host it, that's how it is in my country.

that doesnt work, i've tried replacing my whatismyip's IP with 127.0.0.1 and that only works for me. having a domain is just like hiding my IP isnt it? if they cant connect to my IP, how will they once i register a domain?

whats my IP.com doesn't do anything except tell you your IP that is all, even if you change it, you can plug someone else with your router and they will get your site, there's a lot of 127.0.0.1 in the world.
getting a domain name, your ISP will allow your Ip (whatever it is) to be access over the world.
your ISP will give you www.youraddress.com domain and when your friends go to their browser and type that address it routes to your IP, this is networking, trust me nobody will be able to access your site with 127.0.0.1 in a browser i WON'T WORK

okay, i changed 127.0.0.1 to my IP address, and now when i go to my own site it says Error: Unable to connect to MySQL server. MySQL reported: Host '192.168.1.1' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server. btw im behinid a linksys router, all the ports are forwarded the right way though

lol, when you say you "changed 127.0.0.1 to your IP" what exactly did you do ? am confused now.

side note : you have a site right ? and you want it to be available on the net, right ? then on your side, you CAN'T do anything to put it online, this lies solely on your ISP.

now it gives the "Error: Unable to connect to MySQL server. MySQL reported: Host '192.168.1.1' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server. " when trying to go to http:// localhost

that's not a smart move, you should not ever mention webserver w/ your isp, instead you should make up something else
