WampServer

Hello guys,

I have a little problem, I want to make the transition form wamp5_1.6.1 to WampServer2.0b everything works great. However, I have a site that was created for with MYSQL version 5.0.18-nt specs and that will no longer work under the WampServer2.0b.

According to wamp5_1.6.1 the installed components were as follow:

PHP Version 5.1.2
MYSQL version 5.0.18-nt
Apache version Apache/2.0.55 (Win32)

I manged to installed the appropriate addons of both PHP Version 5.1.2 and Apache version Apache/2.0.55 (Win32) but I can't seem to find MYSQL version 5.0.18-nt anywhere, not even on MYSQL's website.

I was wondering, since wamp5_1.6.1 came with MYSQL version 5.0.18-nt, is there a way that I can extract the MYSQL version 5.0.18-nt and install it as an addon in the new version of wamp (WampServer2.0b) ?

You should try wamp 2 on different computer first w/ the backup your current websites and db; I think they should work

and if it still does not work what should I do next?

They are php 5, mysql 5 so basically they should work; I suggest you try on different computer so you know the answer which is either keep your current wamp w/ everything intact or install new wamp and rebuilt everything from your backup

Indeed you are correct it appears that the version of MYSQL has nothing to do with my problems. I have opted for a clean reinstall instead.

BTW, after uninstalling, make sure to clean up wamp's registries which are wampapache and wampmysql, restart computer, then reinstall wamp
