index.html isn't shown as it shoud

when i acces my server trough the internet my index.html page ain't translated and you get to see the source code if i acces any other page on the server like home.html the html does get translated server is running at [craprock.dyndns.info] any idee what the problem might be?

you have to use full tag <?php ... ?> if short_open_tag is not enable in php.ini
