phpMailer: for example Joomla uses the phpmailer class to send mail. Among other things it supports attachments and HTML. For details, see [

The service provided by [
www.response-o-matic.com] looks worthwhile and deserves a good look if you do not have inhouse PHP expertise available.
The DNS and MX records are very important, otherwise spamfilters will not allow the messages through and your IP address may even get blacklisted by services like Spamhaus. It is also important to check that your ISP's range of IP addresses is not on the list already - one bad host in the server farm would cause trouble for everyone...
