WampServer

is there a way to change it to use the mysql beta 6.0 that im using on my comp instead of the one that comes with wamp? I would prefer to use the newer one, but if not ill use the older one. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Very easy, just extract it to the bin folder, copy my.ini from the other mysql, edit to add the path in config files, then restart wamp

I did what u said, i copied the Mysql 6.0 beta into the wamp bin folder

Than i copied the my.ini from the old 5.2 that came with it

I changed the paths... i made them to the Mysql in my c drive not the bin folder.... (should i change the paths to show it to that one?)

Restart Wamp and no go... is it because of comment from above?



I also clickon on the wamp service and clicked the my.ini thing and it said can't find path.

ok i changed the path to the bin..no dice..... i was going through files i got found the error message logs.

080209 22:25:33 [ERROR] Do you already have another mysqld server running on port: 3306 ?

I allready had 6.0 on my comp.... should i uninstall the one on my C drive and have it run via wamp instead? or just change ports?
