WampServer

Hi,

I have read all over the forum to find a solution to my problem and nothing I found seem to work, here is my problem:

New Windows Media Center XP SP2 install, new wamp install unmodified.
Anytime I start wamp services, mysql runs and closes.
I looked in the mysql logs, and it gives me the following:

I have checked windows's services to make sure there was no mysql running (clean windows install so shouldn't be anyways and IIS is not installed).

I also ran "netstat -a" to see if any process was using the port 3306 and there was none.

I tried to uninstall/re-install wampserver multiple times. Before I reinstalled windows I was using wampserver 1.7.3 for a couple of months without any problems.

I also tried to change the mysql port in my.ini to other ports but then I get the same message in the mysql log with the new port.

I just do not understand why it thinks the port 3306 is used when all the proofs show that it is not.

Any help is welcome.

PS: I thought of maybe trying wampserver 1.7.3 again but can't find any download link, if you have it, post it please.

Well, I can't help you with your problem. But I can post an download link to wampserver 1.7.4.

Check my websites where you can find wamp from version 1.7.2 to wamp2. Remember that all add-ons are for version 1.7.x only and not compatible w/ wamp2
