Sitting behind a proxy server...

My WAMP installation is running beautifully right up to the point where any script tries to pull something from the internet. I'm guessing that I need to somehow tell Apache that it needs to connect to the web through a proxy server but I don't know how to do it. I'm guessing that it's a couple of lines in the httpd.conf file, but can anyone tell me what?

If my proxy server is on 123.123.123.123:8080 then what is the correct syntax, and where in the file does it go!?!

Many thanks for any help, as I'm floundering a little here.
