I have a vista machine with wamp installed. However, I would like to access it from all computers on my home network. I selected "Put Online" and typed my local IP into the address bar and it worked.
However, I then tried it from other computers I get a "timed out" error. I turned off windows firewall on the WAMP machine and then I could access it from the other computers.
Is there a way in which I can set certain local network IPs to be allowed to access WAMP through windows firewall?
I don't really want to have it set up globally. Just for local machines. Is this doable?
I connect to the internet through a netgear router. Would that prevent internet users form accessing it even if I set port 80 to being accessible through windows defender?
Alright, I think I found it. In windows firewall you can click "Change Scope" and set that exception to apply only to the local network. Then I don't have to do anything to router. Cheers.
