can't find the answer to this anywhere in the documenation.
Does WAMP come with support for cURL and OpenSSL + mod-SSL (or Apache SSL) ?

cURL -> yes, you will need to enable that extension for it to work.
SSL -> not supported by wamp.
to enable curl left click on the wamp tray icon -> php settings -> php extensions -> php_curl
