Hi all moderators and administrators.
Thanks for this nice forum.
I recently successfully installed Wamp5(1.7.3) in my WinXP Pro standalone machine.It is installed in c:\wamp\ folder.My php programs are successfully running in the browser after changes in c:\wamp\apache2\conf\httpd.conf file.I have also set my document root to c:\wamp\www\zap (i.e. zap is a test folder I created for storing my php files under c:\wamp\www\ directory)
I have aslo changed the line - " ;extension_dir = "c:\wamp\php\ext\" to ";extension_dir = "c:\wamp\php\ext " , the line ;extension=php_mysql.dll line in there is already uncommented so there was no need to change it, & copied the copied the libmysqld.dll to c:\windows\system32 dir.
But when I try to test MySQL installation in Dos command prompt, I am getting following errors --->
First,I have C:\Documents and Settings\zap> at command prompt. I went to C:\> prompt.
Then when I typed these command at C prompt -
C:\wamp\mysql\bin\mysql\bin\mysqld --install
I get these error-
'c:\wamp\mysql\bin\mysql\bin\mysqld --install' is not recognized as an Internal or External Command,operable program or batch file.
Why am I getting this error?
What to do to test my installation?
I can go to MySQL console from the menu in the taskbar where I can get the mysql prompt,
but i want to test it through cmd...
Does that mean mysql is running?
Also,when I type C:\>NET START MySQL
I get error like-
The Service name is invalid !!!
Why??
Please guide me as I am totally novice.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
