WampServer

Hi all moderators and administrators. I have been using WampServer for a long time now and this is my first time experiancing an error. The error specifically says:

Could not excecute menu item (internal error) [Exception] Could not be perform server action: The service has not been started.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem? It always shows this error when I put the server online/offline. Any ideas?

has your ip address changed recently. i too have comcast and my ip address changed again a few days ago.

No my ip has not changed, it is the same as it always was. Any other ideas?

By any chance, are you using Skype or another service that is using the same port? one way to check is to go to the wampserver tray menu>apache> select "test port 80"

See what it says.

I exited Skype and wampserver began to work again.

Yea, I deleted Skype and all but it still show an error. So what do I do now?

make sure no other webservers are installed like iis or another version of apache.

If you run wamp under windows,
try to change the "log on as" user in windows services to "local system account"..

You might want to check the windows event viewer. It some times will give a clue about why the service didn't start.
