I installed a fresh copy of WAMP on my system today. However, when I go to launch phpmyadmin, I am getting the following error:

#1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in config.inc.php and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server.

I have checked the forums and found some manuals, but now of them discuss this problem. I have not edited any of the files as yet. I have no idea whats going on. Anyone can help, please do...

Once again, just so that everyone knows, I have NOT edit the config.inc.php file, I have not edited any files. I just installed a fresh copy and WAMP, then restarted my PC. When I go to localhost/phpmyadmin, I get the #1045 error.

the only way to get that error is if you change mysql's root users login info, or perhaps you have another install of mysql, which is causing wamp to connect8000 to the wrong server.
