wamp error logging

I cannot get the apache service to start, I could probably figure it out if the apache server created some sort of error log but clicking the wamp icon and going to logs -> apache error log

there are no entries that correlate with the current timestamp and when i try and start the server (wamp icon -> apache -> start server)

any ideas?

apache stores the most recent events at the very bottom (end) of the apache error and access logs. so, scroll down to the bottom to see what error(s) occurred.
