WampServer

I'm trying to use WAMP MySQL through MyODBC 5.0, but no table or databases are visible, neither in BDS nor in Delphi 6 Datapump. The tables are empty using the defined ODBC definition.

Am I right that MyODBC expect to connect to the service "mysql" while WAMP call it "wampmysql" ?

In case, how do I correct that?

By the way, why call the service wampmysql instead of mysql ??


I also tried MySQL's own utilities, like MySQL Administrator. It was being schizoid. It both saw MySQL running, while in other dialog schemes, it was not running.

I guess still the problem is calling the mysql service for wampmysql instead of just mysql.

So what's the deal of renaming the service?

Does this mean I have to install another version of MySQL and let them run concurrently on another port?
