error mysql_connect()

i installed wamp but theres a trouble with the mysql_connect() function it just doesnt work.

i have 2 different sites and the two of them cant connect to mysql. do you have an idea, do i have to modify the php.ini????

help please

More information is required.. you are hosting 2 sites on your own wamp installation and they can't connect.. or are they trying to connect in remotely?
