mime_content_type

I can't get a result from mime_content_type, I enabled the php_mime_magic PHP module and the magic_mime Apache module. Other than enabling those modules it's a fresh install. Any time I try to (for example)
echo mime_content_type("001.jpg"winking smiley;
Nothing gets printed. Any thoughts?

[www.php.net]
This function has been deprecated as the PECL extension Fileinfo provides the same functionality (and more) in a much cleaner way.

use file_info():
