localhost on IE7

Hello, no problem if in Firefox address bar I digit [localhost]

Instead, in IE 7 I get no starting page appearing: what can I do?
I can't navigate in localhost, nor execute PHP files etc.

I tried [127.0.0.1] but nothing to do...
