I am currently running vista home basic and have not being able to run my apache server. After checking the Event Viewer I get this error message:

"httpd.exe: Syntax error on line 139 of C:/wamp/Apache2/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load :/wamp/Apache2/modules/mod_auth.so into server: The specified module could not be found"

I never had this problem when I was using win.XP.
Does any one know how or where I can get a copy of this missing module (mod_auth.so)
Much Thanks

I did not edit or change anything in httpd.conf. What can I look for to see if I might have changed something.?
Also, I have seen others who have the apache not working issue and were told to clean up their regristry, and reports that all is working well. I looked into the regristry abd I do not see any reference to apache or wamp, is their something that I am not seeing?
thanks

it seems you added a module called mod_auth to your apache config file. there is no mod_auth.so file in the modules directory. you need to remove that line from your apache httpd.conf file.

start wamp if it is not already started. left click on the wamp tray icon.

wamp tray icon -> config files -> httpd.conf

find the line containing mod_auth.so and delete it. save the file and restart apache for the new setting to take effect.
