To setup sub-domain, must have domain first, then get dns to convert your web ip into domain and use vh to setup sub-domain

I understood your purposes very well, but not sure if you get mine correctly.

In order to have sub-domain, you musst have both domain and dns, and if you do have both, you only need to "tune up" fastburst's scripts a little bit to have your subs working on both global and local since dns already route traffic to your server (ie. your computer), it will go to the right folders, of course you must setup your subs in dns properly. fastburst's scripts is very useful, especially when you're developing, you don't need to have internet access, or might working on your laptop and/or on the road, but when you're testing your works, you do want to see if it's working properly online, and of course when your developments work as expected, you then can upload them to your hosting.

you can get a subdomain from a site like no-ip.com if you do not have your own domain name. no-ip is not free so if you need a free service search google.

It's completely wrong because by default the document root is c:\wamp\www, so it should be c:\wamp\www\subdomain

That file is not for wamp 1.7.0.

You have to use the right config file or it won't work.

yfastud, if are using virutalhost, you can store you website files anywhere on your computer, they do not have to be the web root. i store mine in a folder called users i have the wamp directory (c:\wamp\users).

Hey Cyber, I do know that, but you might forget that they're newbie and mostly have no clue how vh works; that's why I suggest them to start everything by default first; then, when they have good knowledge about it, they can do what ever they like such as store and run from different computer, don't store master password in config.inc.php, so on

# CustomLog logs/dummy-host.example.com-access_log common
#</VirtualHost>
Just replace w/ this:

NameVirtualHost *:80

<VirtualHost *:80>
ServerAdmin webmaster@your_domain.com
DocumentRoot c:/wamp/www/your_domain
ServerName www.your_domain.com
ErrorLog c:/wamp/www/your_domain/logs/error.log
CustomLog c:/wamp/www/your_domain/logs/access.log common
</VirtualHost>

<VirtualHost *:80>
ServerAdmin webmaster@your_subdomain.com
DocumentRoot c:/wamp/www/subdomain
ServerName subdomain.your_domain.com
ErrorLog c:/wamp/www/subdomain/logs/error.log
CustomLog c:/wamp/www/subdomain/logs/access.log common
</VirtualHost>

Hey ljzxtww, hope this help you out cause I might out of here for while because I'm a little busy w/ my new "baby" that I've just managed to get it /w free printer + router for the total of $250 AR+CP

[www.shopping.hp.com]
[www.circuitcity.com]
[www.dlink.com]

It's dual core, and I especially like its "glossy black HP Imprint finish with sophisticated wave pattern", and get all 3 for $250, no way anyone can beat it.
