Hi there, i have WAMP v1.70 installed on Vista, all services are running, during the install i let everything go to its default location..(i have NOT configured anything) now heres my problem..

No matter whether i am going to http//localhost/phpmyadmin/index.php through my browser (FF or IE) or whether im connecting through the wamp console the page is just blank and continually loading not even giving a timeout, isnt a firewall/router issue as i've also tested with them off..any ideas on a configurement i may need to implement..thanks for your time

It sounds like firewalls issue.

In Vista, also have to check UAC and defender. Additions, some firewalls might still block the services even already disable. It takes me a while to setup wamp on Vista Premium on my laptop and Vista Business on my desktop.

Did you try to temporary uninstall firewalls?

So besides win firewall, do you have any 3-party such as Norton, ZoneAlarm, or any internet optimizer, so on? Remember, disable it is still get the problem, MUST UNINSTALL IT.

Better uninstall wamp, search and delete all related wampapache, wampmysql IN WINDOWS AND IN REGISTRY, then re-install wamp. If still having same problem, go to next suggestion.

To make it simple, here is the suggestion: right after setup User information on new desktop/laptop w/ win vista, don't install any application, but temporary disable windows firewall, windows defender, windows UAC; also if your new desktop/laptop comes w/ any apps, just temporary UNINSTALL all of them. So now you only have windows and wamp in your system. After testing it out to make sure everything is fine, re-enable firewall, defender, UAC and re-install all apps 1 by 1, and remember to test wamp after each installation, eventually, you would find out which app is the cause, and this is exactly what I did on both my new laptop w/ win vista premium and desktop w/ win vista business.

I've tried reinstalling WAMP after uninstalling and removing all wamp related entries from the registry.

I've tried running it w/ other apps running and also without other apps including the firewall... wondering if you had any ideas of where to go now? oO

As i said before i'm not running vista but XP, thank you in advance

make sure you do not have anything running that uses the same port as apache, such as skype or another webserver like iis or another version of apache.

I see well i've just tried running apache with nothing running and to no avail.

To elaborate on my problem. I can see the webpages fine in the browser with the url [localhost] however its when i go to run a php page that i encounter a blank page. Maybe this can help.
