Where did you store and run that script? Check testing codes in my signature, it works flawlessly.

I want to install phpbb2, and my ISP (with free 10 mb storage and domain) set base dir restriction, so i installed phpbb2 on my own machine, and uploaded it to my ISP, and it can not connect to my local mysql server (ISP does not offer mysql usage for free users). I tried this method on other free hosts (they have their own mysql server) and worked, so my local settings are wrong, where can i configure mysql server, to make it reachable from internet? Maybe the service name is the problem (wamp use wampmysqld as service name instead of mysqld)

So you want to hotlink your mysql, or another word to access your mysql remotely? It's good and bad. Good: you can setup and use it that way as you want. Bad: OTHER PEOPLE can take advantage of your mysql as well, and it's not just that; it's extremely slow because it has to remotely transfer data and you will end up to has your system crash very often. So think twice before trying to do so.

Yes, thats the case, but other people cant access it, unless they know the proper user and pass for mysql server. My problem is still unsolved, i thought that my IP, the user and pass of the local Mysql is enough to remotely connect to mysql which runs on my machine with default 3306 port, but something is wrong.
