Moving from 1 PC to another PC

Hello,
I'm rebuilding my PC and will be moving from WAMP 1.6.3 to the latest version of WAMP. Is there a way that I can make the transition, while keeping all my sites and MySQL databases intact?

Thanks in advance.

if you use the wamp installer to upgrade, you wont have problems with your data such as databases being erased. however, if you are using mysql 5.0 or older, you will most likely have some issues with mysql 5.x which the latest version of wamp uses because of new mysql permissions. you will need to upgrade your grant tables.

According to Rom, wamp's creator, this new version pack w/ some new features so you can't upgrade from any previous version, even in the same computer, but backup all your data, uninstall current wamp, then install new version.

Have fun

Well, that's the issue. I'm not sure what I have to do to "Back up" my configuration and databases. I've copied the WWW directory over fine, and I've copied the mysql\data directory over. However, when I go into PHPMyAdmin on the new computer, I see the databases seem to be there, but there isn't anything actually in the DB's. So asside from going into PHPMyAdmin and doing a manual export of all the data into an SQL script then doing an import on the new system, is there an easier way to copy over the data?

you can not just save your mysql data like that. you will need to access phpmyadmin and preform a dump to get all your data. save it to a file, and after you upgrade, import it to the new phpmyadmin.

How do you do this?
