mysql in diffrent location

does anyone know how to have a seperate database saved in a diffrent location? basically what i want to do is to have a bunch of php files stored on a usb flash drive, and then to add a database on the same drive. i can easily add an alias to get the web pages, but i dont know how to have the database on it, and be able to take the drive and use it on another computer.
