Ok, I'm COMPLETELY new to php and mysql. I know what a database is... AND THAT'S IT. I have lil to no working knowledge about php yet minus what lil I've learned in video's and such. Beyond that, I'm clueles. I've been looking on forum posts here and what not, going and googling and what not. Trying to figure out for the life of me why i can't access mysql. I've changed the password in the mysql config file. And before that, even when it was no password and I hit enter, I got NO response. Now, with that said, I've seen people make posts on here about getting a beep error after pressing enter and then having mysql shutdown. I don't know for the life of me that I can not access mysql. I might have installed multiple instances of wamp at one time. I'm trying to figure out how to get rid of them first. But what else would I need to do to figure out why this won't work on my laptop. On my regular computer no problems at all. On my laptop however, LOTS of problems accessing the mysql database. I know it's not the password, TRUST ME, I've already looked at every fancy angle on that one. So if it's not the password problem keeping me from accessing the database with wamp than what would it be? I need someone who can speak noob here btw, That would be a BIG help.

Everyone is a noob at least once, right? And I didn't just spend days or weeks but months to get what I'm having right now, not too much but better nothing, so I know how it feels when you keep searching and can't get what you want, thus I have a old post here and hope you can get some good tips from it

BTW, based on you post, I think you might have to uninstall wamp and before reinstall it, search and delete my.ini, php.ini, wampapache, wampmysql in your laptop and also in registry.

Have fun
